    • Subsea Tunnels: There are four subsea tunnels in the Faroe Islands and all of them require a toll for passing. When booking with Unicar, you can prepay for the tunnel tolls as part of your reservation.

    • Single-Lane Tunnels: A few older tunnels are one-lane only, with passing bays. Yield to oncoming traffic when required and follow signs carefully.
      • 
        
    • Wildlife: Sheep are everywhere in the Faroe Islands - and they often wander onto the roads. You might also spot the occasional goose or hare, so stay alert and drive with caution.
                
    • Weather: The weather in the Faroe Islands can change quickly. Fog, rain, wind, and occasional snow are possible - especially in higher areas. Always check the forecast on Landsverk before your trip and drive with caution.

    • Basic insurance: All Unicar rentals include mandatory third-party liability insurance at no extra cost.
      
            
         Optional Add-on: Selfrisk insurance is available for 100 DKK per day. This significantly lowers your financial responsibility in case of damage.
            Without selfrisk insurance: You're liable up to 7900 DKK per damage.

    • Tunnels and Ferries: The Faroe Islands are connected by a network of roads, subsea tunnels, and ferries. All sub-sea tunnels require a toll, which you can prepay when booking with Unicar, or we will send you an invoice after your rental. For ferry schedules and routes visit ssl.fo.

    •  You'll receive a full refund if you cancel at least 14 days before your rental begins. For cancellations made 7-14 days in advance, 70% of your payment is refunded. Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 7 days prior are non-refundable.
