Unicar offers flexible car delivery across the Faroe Islands to most locations. You can choose from predefined pickup locations on Vágar Island or in Tórshavn, or you can type in any other location in the booking form. However, please keep in mind the following:

• Delivery Fee: Delivery outside Vágar Airport and our Miðvágur office comes with an additional cost. The fee varies depending on the location.
• Delivery Locations: Delivery is only available to locations accessible by car. Locations requiring ferry transport are not eligible for delivery.
• Distant Areas: For deliveries to more distant areas, such as Klaksvík or Runavík, the rental period must be at least 3 days. If you’re unsure whether your location qualifies as a distant area, please reach out to us for confirmation before booking.
• Advance Notice: Requests for special delivery must be made at least 48 hours in advance to ensure we can accommodate your request.

The maximum self-risk (deductible) per damage is 7900 DKK. The actual amount to be paid depends on the severity of the damage. If the renter is not at fault, written confirmation from the third party must be submitted. All material damages must be reported.

For 100 DKK/day, you can include self-risk insurance in your rental. This reduces your maximum liability per incident from 7900 DKK to 2500 DKK, including in the case of theft. The following are not covered:

• Damages while driving under the influence or otherwise impaired.
• Burns on seats or mats.
• Broken or missing equipment inside the car.
• Damage to the underside of the vehicle from poor roads.
• Towing costs if the car leaves the road.
• Clutch damage due to misuse of manual transmission.

There are four subsea tunnels in the Faroe Islands:

• Vágatunnilin: Connects Vágar (airport) to Streymoy (Tórshavn).
• Norðoyartunnilin: Connects Eysturoy to Borðoy (Klaksvík).
• Eysturoyartunnilin: Connects Eysturoy with Streymoy.
• Sandoyartunnilin: Connects Streymoy to Sandoy.

All of them require a toll. You can either prepay for the tunnels when booking your rental or we will send you an invoice after the rental, if you're unsure how many tunnels you'll use. Vágatunnilin and Norðoyartunnilin: We charge 80 DKK for a return trip through Vágatunnilin or Norðoyartunnilin. To travel as often as you like through these two tunnels, you can buy an unlimited subsea tunnel trips package for 350 DKK. Eysturoyartunnilin and Sandoyartunnilin: These two tunnels are not included in the unlimited subsea tunnel trips package. Charges of 175 DKK per one-way trip will apply. If these charges are not prepaid during the booking, we will send an invoice after the rental.

We offer a range of extra services and equipment to make your rental more convenient. Whether you need a child seat or a booster seat (required by law for children under 135cm), Wi-Fi or fuel service, we’ve got you covered. If you're picking up or dropping off your car at Vágar Airport, an airport fee will apply.

• Pick-up at Vágar Airport: 150 DKK
• Drop-off at Vágar Airport: 150 DKK
• Fuel Service: 200 DKK + fuel (we refill the car for you)
• Child Seat: 150 DKK - available in three sizes (0-9kg, 9-18kg, 18-36kg)
• Booster Seat: 75 DKK - required for children under 135cm
• WiFi: 45 DKK/day - unlimited WiFi in your rental car

When returning the rental car, please ensure the following:

• Equipment: All equipment, including documents, tools, and extras, should be returned in the same condition as when you picked up the car. Any missing or damaged items will be charged.
• Fuel: The car should be returned with a full tank. If not, we will charge the cost of fuel plus a 200 DKK refueling fee.
• Cleanliness: The car must be returned fairly clean, free from waste or food. If the car is excessively dirty, we will charge a cleaning fee.
• Smoke-Free: Smoking is not permitted in our rental cars. If the car is returned with a noticeable odor or evidence of smoking, a cleaning fee will be charged.
• Punctuality: Please return the car at the agreed time. If you’re running late, kindly inform us in advance. If you need to prolong your rental, feel free to contact us to check availability.

Cancellation: You will get a full refund if you cancel 14+ days before rental start. If cancelled 7-14 days before, 30% of the rental fee will be charged. No refund if cancelled less than 7 days before the rental period.

Change: We do not charge for changes to the car or rental period, but if there's a difference in vehicle class, additional cost may apply. Please note, we have no guarantee that we do have cars available.

Since the weather in the Faroe Islands can be unpredictable and may cause flight cancellations, we recommend having travel insurance or paying with a credit card that includes such insurance.

Extras available for camper rentals

• Bed linen: 100 DKK per set
• Sheets only: 15 DKK per set
• Cleaning fee for pets: 150 DKK

Bed linen requirement

• Bed linen must be used on all duvets, pillows, and mattresses.
• If you bring your own sleeping bags, you must still use sheets on the mattresses. Sheets can also be rented from us.

Waste disposal

• The sewage tank and PortaPotti toilet must only be emptied at designated draining stations or toilets.
• Waste must be disposed of properly in waste containers.

Returning the camper

• The camper must be returned fairly clean and emptied of anything that was not part of the car’s original equipment.
• All food, spices, paper, waste and personal belongings must be removed before return.
• A cleaning fee will be billed if the camper is not emptied and fairly clean.
